For the third year running, every entry to Strike Club goes directly to SpecialEffect — the charity that puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them play video games.

Using technology ranging from modified controllers to eye-tracking, SpecialEffect's team of occupational therapists and gaming specialists find a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities. They don't charge anything to the people they help, and they receive no statutory funding — which means every pound raised here makes a direct, lasting difference.

Their work is close to the heart of the games industry, and Strike Club was born out of that connection. You know better than most what it means to play.

Effect

"SpecialEffect change lives. Through their knowledge and expertise, people like me can now play with friends on an even playing field. It may be hard for some to imagine, but being included makes a huge and positive difference."

alley from
Texas.

Ham Yard Hotel isn't your average bowling venue. Tucked beneath one of Soho's most celebrated boutique hotels — a Michelin key holder and a genuine London landmark — is a four-lane bowling alley that was built in the United States in the 1950s, disassembled, shipped across the Atlantic, and painstakingly reassembled beneath the streets of W1.

It's the perfect home for Strike Club: genuinely americana, right in the heart of London.

How Strike Club
works

Simple enough for beginners, competitive enough for everyone else. This is the third time we've done this — we've got the format dialled.

01

Form your team

Round up four people from your company. The £800 entry is a donation to SpecialEffect — and it's the only thing standing between you and a legendary night of bowling.

02

Bowl for glory

Each team plays across the evening on Ham Yard's four private lanes. Strikes, spares, gutter balls — all scored, all counted. The leaderboard is live all night.

03

Win. Lose. Give.

Prizes for the top teams, wooden spoon for the bottom. The real win is what goes to SpecialEffect — and the bar's open the whole time, so everybody wins something.
